
Dr Mo Shah
Dr Mo Shah is a consultant interventional cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary intervention and preventative cardiology. He completed his intercalated medical degree at the University of Manchester, where he graduated with national academic prizes. Following academic and general medical training in Manchester, he moved to London for specialist cardiology training. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation–funded PhD at UCL, working with international teams in Norway and South Africa to explore the immune mechanisms underlying heart attacks.
After completing his PhD, Mo returned to full-time NHS practice, undertaking advanced interventional training at King’s College Hospital, the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He now works as a consultant interventional cardiologist across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, East Kent University Hospitals, and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. His expertise lies in complex percutaneous coronary intervention and preventative cardiology, and he has published widely in areas including lipid metabolism, coronary intervention, and cellular immunology. Passionate about protecting and strengthening the NHS, Mo co-founded Stopford Healthcare to drive a technology-led revolution that empowers clinicians, improves care, and helps future-proof the health service for generations to come.
